Charlamagne Tha God Cancels Upcoming Interview With Kanye West

Charlamagne Tha God decided to cancel his previously scheduled Times Talk forum with Kanye West. The New York Times sponsored interview was originally set for October 17th and was supposed to address mental health issues Americans face on a daily basis, notably the stigma normally attached to mental health disorders, especially within the Black community.

The decision to cancel the event was made shortly after Kanye’s visit to the White House. Kanye West met with President Donald Trump inside the Oval Office, where he proceeded to rant about various topics seemingly at random, while President Trump sat quietly, offering a few words of praise here and there. Kanye West compared the MAGA hat he often sports to a “superman cape” and praised Trump for providing him with a much needed source of “male energy”. Kanye West’s very public friendship with the current POTUS has caused tension between him and the Black community at large.

The Breakfast Club co-host took to Instagram to explain why he decided to cancel the interview. In a post displaying the previously scheduled forum’s advertisement, Charlamagne gives his reasons behind the choice to cancel.

Although Kanye has been pretty public regarding his own battles with mental health, Charlamagne Tha God told his followers that he does not think it is the right time to have the conversation with Kanye.

As of now, a conversation with Kanye would prove to be more of a distraction than anything else, considering the amount of backlash he has received as a result of his recent meeting with Trump. See This Page for related information

Charlamagne Tha God wishes to still have the discussion with Kanye regarding mental health at a later date, but at this point in time he does not see it as being “productive”.
